4 Great Reasons To Use Aluminum Railings

Posted by Holli McRae on 4/30/13 1:26 PM

After you decide to install a railing describe the imagesystem onto your porch your next step is to decide what material to use and how you want it to look. Many people today are going with an aluminum railing system for their home project. This system has several different features to benefit from and is a easy product to install. Please read over the benefits of purchasing and installing an aluminum railing system.

1.     Low Cost:

Wrought iron is absolutely beautiful but very expensive and wood railings have problems with peeling paint and rot.  When using an aluminum porch railing this can give you the look of wrought iron from a distance without all the headaches of having wood railings.

2.     Durability:

Aluminum is a far more durable alternative than using wood railings.  Plus the long term advantage is they will not warp, rot, or peel like wood.  Aluminum also does not rust like steel or iron railings. Worthington’s aluminum railings come with a powder-coat finish applied at the factory to protect the aluminum and add a specific color. This powder coated paint is a top quality finish that lasts for a very long time and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

3.     Low Maintenance:

Low maintenance does not always mean no maintenance.

Aluminum Railings are very easy to maintain and require minimal care. It is recommend that you inspect and clean your porch railings at least once a year in a standard outdoor living space. Near swimming pools and spas, aluminum railings should be checked and cleaned every 6 months.  This makes fall yard cleanup and pool close-up time ideal for giving your railing a quick once-over!

4.     Ease of Install:

Aluminum railings are extremely lightweight and very easy to install. They typically are installed by either two lag screws into a wood porch or deck or with stainless steel expanding bolts into masonry. Each vertical post has two holes for fasteners that can be spaced up to 10’
