The powder coat finish is extremely durable and can withstand heat safely of 300 degrees without damaging the column. The reason that this is important is because it can be used for your exterior application no matter where you are located in the world! Having a color option is something that is not very common coming straight from the factory. This eliminates the need for sanding, priming, and painting all together.
2. Class A Flame Spread Classification
Flame spread according to Wikipedia "Flame spread or surface burning characteristics rating is a ranking derived by laboratory standard test methodology of a material's propensity to burn rapidly and spread flames. There are several standardized methods of determining flame spread." This is the highest classification that you can receive.
I'm sure you can imagine why this would be beneficial! Who really wants to deal with heavy columns? Aluminum columns can bear a weight from 20,000 pounds to 43,000 pounds depending on the size of the column itself. Basically, it can hold a lot of weight!
